PopART-IBM is a discrete-time, stochastic, individual-based model written in C that can simulate 50 years of an HIV epidemic in a large, high-prevalence community in under a minute. The model was developed as part of the HPTN 071 (PopART) trial in Zambia and South Africa, and has also been applied in Rakai, Uganda and Manicaland, Zimbabwe.
