The HIV Modelling Consortium is a network of epidemiologists, mathematical modellers, health economists, policy-makers and other stakeholders, coordinated by a Secretariat based at University of South Africa (UNISA). We support the development and implementation of mathematical modelling analyses that can inform policy decision-making for HIV programmes in sub-Saharan Africa.
All interested modellers and stakeholders are able to propose projects for consideration. We particularly encourage projects involving multiple models jointly addressing a single question.
The Consortium was founded in 2010 and is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In 2019, the Secretariat moved from Imperial College London to University College London. In December 2024 the Secretariat moved to UNISA.
